Chickens visit Suzuki

On Monday we had two chickens that came to visit our classroom thanks to Philppa, an amazing parent and volunteer at our school. What a wonderful experience for the children to spend some time learning about the chickens and investigating the eggs.

    The Suzuki students reacted to the hens in exactly the same way as all other children react to them. It is adults who have lost touch with the animals that feed us and transform our waste into fertilizer.

    I know that not everybody is keen to own backyard chickens, but those of us who do would like to be able to make this connection every day.
