Wikki Stix Creations

What is a Wikki Stix? Well, think 'candle wick' coated in a thick waxy film and find a way to make add some 'sticky' and you get a Wikki Stix! They are incredibly bendable, and so colourful!  We never know what designs the children are going to create.
A sheet of plexiglass provided a perfect opportunity for children to collaborate on this detailed display. They knew just where they wanted it to be showcased when they were done!

Because they are so sticky and bendable, they can be used over and over again to create and recreate. The children work side by side and gather ideas. It is very interesting to see how some become peer models for others.

When a child has drawn with a marker, crayon, coloured pencil, or used paint, every mark is permanent. When they create with Wikki Stix, their lines can be moved until they set them in just the right spot. We often see the children moving a Wikki Stix over and over again until they've got it just right.

Wikki Stix! Just like a stamp... they stick to it until the job is done.
