Come Home to Kindergarten

The ache for home lives in all of us, the safe place
where we can go as we are and not be questioned.
~ Maya Angelou ~

You will see many changes in our kindergarten room this year.
A renovation of space.
A reflection of passion, commitment and our philosophy.

Our kindergarten children are welcomed home
to a place where they can be who they are,
where questions are valued and become sign posts for learning.

Unless we are willing to encourage our children to reconnect with and appreciate the natural world, we can't expect them to help protect and care for it.
~ Dr. David Suzuki ~

We welcome the children home to a place that honours the natural environment.

A place where their tools for learning are ready to follow them
to where their learning is happening.

We welcome the children home to a place where we are privileged to witness and support the self-discovery of each ever-so-capable and amazing child.

Where the environment reflects the children's interests and inspires their imagination.

Where there is room to build and invitation to observe and wonder.

It is not the beauty of a building you should look at;
it's the construction of the foundation
that will stand the test of time.
~David Allan Coe~

We welcome the children home to a place where the foundation of our philosophy is the belief in the capability of the child which is framed by our support
 of the whole child.

We are home to a place where we value our connections with a community of partners near and far.

Welcome home to a place where nature inspires our learning
and beckons beyond the walls of our room.

Where natural materials ignite the senses and make lasting learning connections.

We welcome the children home to the a place where they can feel at home.
A place where we come to know each family...their heritage...their culture...their traditions...through the play of their children.

We welcome the children home to a place where their creativity and expression of thoughts and ideas inspires us each and every day.
A gallery awaits.

A place where every flower, every colour of the rainbow, every creature, every wondrous imagining...will be represented, framed, displayed on home walls and fridges and come with a deep, rich story.

Home is where one starts from.
~T. S. Eliot~
