Our Praying Mantis

Sparkles has had quite a bit of excitement lately. Not only have the children discovered that Sparkles recognizes a toy that looks the very same, Sparkles has also had some tours of our wonderful world of kindergarten!
Off came the lid of Sparkles cozy home...
and out came Sparkles.
Sparkles got up close and personal with the many friends who visit her habitat.
How many legs does Sparkles have?
Why are Sparkles eyes not in the very front of her head?
The children gather as they watch Sparkles walk about her home...
and slowly realize that the lid is not there for her to climb up!
She seems to especially like the mini palm tree.
"It's because the leaves are skinny and her feet can climb up them like a ladder."
Sparkles knows how to camouflage herself.
Why does she do that?

Emmy makes sure that Sparkles knows she is thought of and makes Sparkles a lovely note.
Why does Sparkles follow the toy praying mantis?

What is Sparkles thinking?
What is Sparkles feeling?
How can we be a friend to Sparkles?
Compassion, in which all ethics must take root, can only attain its full breadth and depth if it embraces all living creatures and does not limit itself to mankind.
