Each day our sand table is transformed into a new environment. Our children have lots of stories to share as they create their landscape. Through exploration children experiment with what water does when it is added to sand. They are adding lots of different material from around the classroom to create these amazing structures.

|It is wonderful to see the children engaged in creating
beautiful outfits at our dress shop. In the last few weeks we have had
some beautiful material donated to our room so our children have been proudly displaying their creations. Children work together to select material, come up with a design, measure and cut their material so that it will fit. |
|Eva's mom was thrilled when the girls wanted to design a dress for her. We were very impressed with the beautiful Spring flowers they created using markers.|
|The children have put together a book with designs that have been created so customers have a chance to look through and see if they would like something similar to a design that has been created.|
|Even Thunder had a special outfit designed for a performance on stage.|
|We even had a wedding dress that was designed with the beautiful white material.|
Lucas designed and created a dress for Mrs. Crickshank.

In our classroom we set aside time at the end of the day so children have the opportunity to share. There are so many benefits to having children present what they have created and share a special accomplishment. Children are developing confidence when they are standing in front of their peers and sharing. They also inspire others to try something new when they share what they have done with the materials. We are able to see their progress as writers when they are sounding out their sentences
which indeed is purposeful writing.
