What an amazing two days we spent at Greenview Aviaries! The weather was perfect and the photographs are beautiful. Thank you to Greg who took these photos which gave me the opportunity to do some videotaping with the children. I will be posting the photos the children took this weekend.w

We have had some exciting moments over the last 2 weeks. The chicks pipped through their shells and we have 6 new additions to our Suzuki Family. The students were so excited to hear the chicks peep, then hatch, and now they are starting to grow feathers and take flight. The student have written the chicks some beautiful messages and brainstormed some fantastic names. The students are learning to care for the chicks. We weighed our chicks and recorded their growth. I wonder how much they will weigh next week? What other changes will we see?
One of the many wonderful things that we have here at Suzuki is our upstairs garden. For the last few weeks the children have been working on cleaning the gardens and growing vegetable seeds in our classroom. Last week we used the pumpkin from the Fall that has decomposed in our soil along with the worm compost. Our vegetable plants are stunning and we will be planting them upstairs next week.
|The children were counting all the potato bugs that were living in the pumpkin and decided they needed to build a habitat for them before we put them back in our gardens.|
