Reinventing and Developing Scientific Thinking

The process of scientific discovery is, in effect, a continual flight from wonder.
~ Albert Einstein ~

Thinking 'scientifically' doesn't happen without involving the senses.
Seeing, touching and wondering.
The 'hands on' discovery of taking apart gives the children the opportunity for active exploration and gives the world of science a brand new verb...'sciencing'.
Sciencing means the children are actively involved.

What do we do with the loose parts that we gather when we take apart and explore?
At Dr. David Suzuki School....we re-use them!
This day, the children were making robots and we had just the right materials.

Talk of robots being computers was very interesting.
The computer and printer parts were now being harvested for parts for the robots.
"My guy needs a energy pack! He needs to recharge."

Sciencing...means hands on and minds on!
