A Look Back At The Outdoors During The Fall

The holiday break gave us the opportunity to go through many photos. Here is a collection of outdoor pictures taken during the fall.
Light jackets or none at all...sunny days and wind enough to float a kite...green grass and leaves on trees.
Nature walks and dirt cities...mud kitchens and wagon rides.
Gathering garbage and golden leaves...wild leaf rumpus and fossil findings.
Fun-filled Fabulous Fall!

As you go through the pictures, talk to your children about their fun in the fall and make memory connections with them.
What did they like the most?
What do they miss?
What has changed?

Finger painting

Finger painting is always such a great sensory experience for children. It's fun to get one's hands dirty and really explore art materials.  The children had the opportunity to finger paint using autumn colours last week.

Pumpkin Time

Exploring pumpkins is always so much fun in the fall! On Halloween day the children were invited to help create Jack-o-lanterns with some help from an adult.

The pulp and pumpkin 'goop' was added to our usual playdough mixture and was such a wonderful sensory experience to play with and explore!

It was also interesting to put the pumpkin seeds and pulp on our light table for exploration.

Sticky, sticky, ooey, gooey fun!

The children also created their own recipes and 'pumpkin soup' by adding water and other ingredients to the pumpkin seeds and pulp in the kitchen!
