Writing Happens Everywhere

The wonderful thing about learning through play is that there are endless opportunities for literacy. Encouraging children to explore writing in a safe and supportive manner helps them to see themselves as capable. It makes writing an enjoyable experience and one that they engage in frequently.  In our program children have the opportunity to write everywhere; outdoors on easels and chalkboards,  together on large pieces of paper, manipulating magnetic letters to spell familiar words, using sidewalk chalk, signing up at sharing time and even documenting their own work!
