Crayola and The 3 R's

At Dr. David Suzuki School, we know a little something about the three R's. Reducing, Reusing and Recycling!

A most wonderful coincidence happened. The day we decided to take 'dried out' markers and set them in water for Crayola paint, we received a letter from Crayola!

The Crayola markers tinted the water beautiful colours!
The children experimented using the paint brushes and the markers. The markers resulted in vibrantly coloured pictures.
The colours were light when the children were using the paint brushes.
The longer the markers stayed in the water and were reused, the lighter the colours became.
And when the colour is completely gone, we know exactly what to do with the old markers. Crayola has given us a way to recycle them. Or should we say ColorCycle !
We will take all old markers and send them to Crayola. They take the markers and recycle them into liquid fuel!

Send in old markers and partner with us and Crayola in the "magic of marker-to-energy conversion"!
