Making Our Pasta Sauce

The bounty from the rooftop garden inspired a wonderful idea.
Tomatoes...we needed tomatoes!

A basket of fresh garden tomatoes arrived and
the children couldn't wait to get started.
Steps would have to be taken for our first cooking experience of the year.
Clean hands and aprons.
The SK children set a wonderful example for the JK children.

The tomatoes needed to be washed.

Once clean, they needed to be cooked.

And then cooled! That's when the skin would come off easily.

The children worked together to skin the tomatoes and fill the bowl.

Can you guess what we are making yet?

Stay tuned! These tomatoes are going to become homemade pasta sauce. MmmMmmMmm!
