The Importance of Cooking and Baking With Children

Cooking with kids is not just about ingredients, recipes and cooking.
It's about harnessing imagination, empowerment and creativity.
~ Guy Fieri ~
In the wonderful world of kindergarten, cooking takes on a most important role. There are so many opportunities for children to learn.
* Science
*Math
* Fine Motor
* Language
* Culture

Children become eager test tasters when they've mixed and poured.
Everything tastes wonderful when Mom adds her special touch!
When one of the children has a member of their family join us, it's such a special feeling and a wonderful way to bring families and school together.
The children get to talk about their favourite fruits and flavours.
Nancie was so happy to share her mother with us.
And we were so happy to share the delicious and healthy smoothies!
Watching the smoothies in the blender was very interesting.
Some machines are simple and some need electricity to work.
An electric blender has different speeds to use for different types of food.

All the children get a chance to make smoothies. The blender gets to
whirr    whirr    whirr  again and again.

Mmmmmm....every delectable sip tastes like MORE!
Our junior chefs are doubly lucky!
Families come in to cook and so do community partners.
This day, Mrs. Kirst came in to make yummy pumpkin muffins.
